RB-IPE Utility

This Utility can be used to discover and update any RB-IPE unit on the local network.

Discovering Units:

- If you are attempting to discover a unit which is in BOOT mode, you will need to select "Unit -> Boot Mode" before attempting discovery.

- The "Discover" menu will show a list of available network interface which can be searched for RB-IPE units.

- Upon selecting an interface the utility will broadcast UDP and populate a list of IP addresses for units that respond.

*** Note: The utility will automatically connect to the first unit in the list and display the details for this unit. ***

- Selecting a unit from the IP drop down list will automatically connect to the unit and display Unit Details.

- Any browser can now be pointed to the Unit IP address to access the Webserver for the unit.

Updating Units:

- Updating an RB-IPE using the utility is the same process whether the unit is in BOOT mode or not.

- After discovering the unit "Unit -> Upload File" will bring up a File Open box.

- Navigate to the location of the new firmware file and open to begin the upload.

*** Note: Latest Firmware versions can be found at: www.sonifex.co.uk ***

Trouble Shooting:

If you cannot discover a unit;

- Ensure that both the unit and PC with which you are trying to discover, are on the same subnet - UDP discovery will not work across subnets.

- Ensure that the utility is set to look for units in the correct mode, BOOT or otherwise, try both modes if you are unsure.

- Remember that after updating a unit from boot mode you will need to switch the utility mode in order to discover the unit now running main firmware.

- If your network does not run a DHCP server then the unit may have selected a default IP address (192.168.0.100)

if this address conflicts with your network you will need to connect the RB-IPE directly to a PC network card using an ethernet cable.

You can then turn off DHCP and set up the network addresses as you like.
